WAKEHAM. RESIDENT DESIGNER FOR THE LIVING SHOW – NOVUS CHANNEL
34.
Veronica
Wakeham has been working with interior design clients in Vancouver
for over ten years. In 1996, she earned a degree in Commerce and began consulting with
interior designers, always questioning why some interior designer's
projects seem destined for success while others struggled despite
great ideas, passion and almost unlimited budgets. Finally she cracked
the code.
By bringing sound project management
and budget attention in line with design considerations these
processes worked supportively, rather than as second cousins to
design. At heart, all clients desire good design. But none want
the cost over-runs and missed deadlines which result from over-emphasis
on design without proper attention to a fixed budget and a practical
timeline.
In 2001, reflecting her passion for
fabrics, Veronica opened Terra Nova Linen House, a specialty linen
showroom in Yaletown. However, due to demand for her design
expertise this business has been overtaken by interior design with
a heavy emphasis on project management. There seems to be truth
that design is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration!
Terra Nova Interiors professional services
are all provided by reliable trades who are scheduled and managed
by Veronica and her design team. These services include design
direction, space planning and color and fabric coordinating, hardwood
flooring, rugs and carpeting, furnishings and finishes, millwork
and tiles, window treatments and hardware, painting and wall-papering,
in addition to luxury linens.
In
2006, Veronica became resident designer for The Living Show broadcast on Novus Channel 4 and in rich media online, where she
demonstrates weekly how to practically tackle with successful outcomes,
mid to high-end design projects, particularly in downtown Vancouver. Veronica is also a regular contributor
to Ezine Articles for articles on various aspects of Interior
Design. Please browse through by clicking on the logo or by
